About the Instructor


Patrick W. Johnson, Ph.D., is a retired U.S. Navy Commander who headed the Navy Shipboard Radar and IFF/ID Branch of the Chief of Naval Operations for four years.

Dr. Johnson is now Vice-President, Research and Development, for Zimmerman Associates/ American Electronics, Inc. (ZAI/Amelex), a small high tech information and engineering technology firm that provides research, development and rapid prototyping services for government and commercial clients. He has extensive operational radar and IFF experience and has directed the design and development efforts on many radar and SSR/IFF and Target Identification programs and projects.
